Bill Dykstra, CRSP, CHSC
Bill is currently a Safety Specialist with F.A.S.T. First Aid & Survival Technologies Limited. He is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and holds Certificates in Business Administration and Occupational Health and Safety from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). In addition, Bill is Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC), ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor, Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO), holds a Level III Industrial First Aid Ticket/Instructors Ticket. Bill is a director of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) (Lower Mainland Chapter).
Bill was a Health and Safety Manager for West Bay Sonship Yachts Ltd. for three years. While at West Bay Sonship Yachts, Bill was instrumental in reducing the medical incident rate from 34.4 to 1.6 and implemented an assertive Return to Work (RTW) program. Bill also worked as a Health and Safety and Ergonomic Coordinator for 12 years at Weyerhaeuser (Canadian White Pine) and as a safety professional for Willow Spring Construction and Mainland Sawmills. Bill’s expertise is in facilitating the change of safety culture in an organization. He is experienced in safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
An excellent instructor, Bill has provided instruction and training in Fire Safety, Disability Management, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space, Ergonomics, WHMIS, Accident Investigation, Fall Protection, Forklift, Crane/Rigging and in Supervisory Skills.
Leon Johnson, CHSC, CRSP
Leon is currently a Safety Specialist with F.A.S.T. First Aid & Survival Technologies Limited. He is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and holds a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety from the British Columbia Institute of Technologies (BCIT). In addition, Leon is a Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC), ISO 9000:2000 Lead Auditor and a member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE).
Leon’s strength is his prior experience working as a Field Services Safety and Risk Advisor with the Ministry of Transportation. As such, Leon understands the challenges of the owner/prime contractor role. While employed with the Ministry of Transportation, Leon created a Safety Audit Manual.
Leon was also employed in the private sector by Sun-Rype Products as an Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator and was an Occupational Health and Safety Officer for Highways Constructors Limited. Leon is experienced in conducting safety audits, inspections and risk assessments, developing and implementing safe work procedures and all manners of safety training.
